      Noni Cragg @nonicee

      Noni Cragg is a portrait artist based in Sydney, Australia, inspired by culture, colour and people. She is of Irish, Scottish & First Nations heritage Bundjalung and Biripai. Working also as a writer, actor, model and activist; she co-founded NFP charity The Rough Period with friend Jasmine Coronado in 2015. Exhibiting her work over the last 10 years at Ambush Gallery, Backwoods Gallery, China Heights Gallery, Comber St Gallery, District 01, Yellow House and more. Graduating with a BFA in Painting at The National Art School, Darlinghurst.

      ABOUT THE ARTWORK

      Otis: Carey is a progressive professional Surfer and Artist. He is represented by China Heights Gallery in Sydney and is sponsored by Billabong. He is a Gumbaynggirr / Bundjalung man and proud father of two sons and a daughter. Otis' paintings are informed by Indigenous history and culture, alongside his own life experiences. Carey’s art is influenced by the Op Art movement of the 1960s and the traditional style of Gambayvnggirr people.

      Included in the portrait are the totems of both he (Superb Lyrebird) and his son Beige (willy Wagtail)

      Also are birds and flowers from Bundjalung and Gumbaynggirr Country as well as the Country he was living on at the time of this portrait, such as the Crested Shriketit, Scarlet Honeyeater, Spotted Pardalote, Rose Robin, Rainbow Bee-eater, Red-rumped parrot, Varigated Fairy-wren and Blue-faced Honeyeater.

      Flowers include; Flannel Flowers, Golden Wattle, Fairy Paint Brush, Eucalyptus Flowers/Red Ironbark, Showy Groundsel, Ball Everlasting and Stiff Bottlebrush.
