ABOUT THE ARTIST
Georgia Hill @georgiahillbth
Georgia Hill is an Australian artist and muralist, specialising in type-based artworks and installations. Hill has proved herself to be one of Australia's leading street artists with a contemporary and conscious touch to her materials, surroundings and conceptual approaches.
ABOUT THE EXHIBITION
Stemming from a need to constantly move, consume, connect and reflect, 'To Be And Do' showcases Hill's creative practice across fabric installation, large-scale murals and painted canvas works. Renowned for her monochromatic palette and constant exploration of materiality and scale, Hill's works abstract the textures and structures found in language, environments, and architecture into new surreal scenes.
"The messages I convey are usually personal to my own experience at that time, but when combined with new contexts and significant scale, become abstracted and ambiguous in a way that is wide open to interpretation. Phrases get stuck in my head like a song lyric, or like poetry. I think of them in that sense, that they are part of a bigger picture and a longer story, but carry a world of questions and meaning on their own. It creates a striking, powerful presence: it feels like looking very closely at a moment before we quickly move to what is next".
HOW ART AID WORKS
Choose your artwork and select one of our charity partners, we will then donate 25% of the profits to the cause of your choice.
At the end of the exhibition, we will send Georgia a full breakdown of the $$ impact her artwork has made on the planet, pretty rad right?
